The Caribbean region is often associated with the moniker "Paradise on Earth." These tropical islands, with perfect white sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters, rival Europe's best. Therefore, you may ask yourself, "Which Caribbean island should I visit?" It is tough to pick the top ten islands, as each one is unique and mesmerizing. While we have our favorites, all of them are worthy! Just remember to bring the perfect outfits!

10. Cuba

Fabulous Cuba will charm you at first sight, as beautiful beaches, music, rum, and cigars are all you need on vacation

Bienvenido a Cuba, an island country full of music and powdery beaches. Although it's the least commercialized among Caribbean islands, it attracts many visitors. The capital of Cuba, Havana, has its charm, as it's a city frozen in time. Therefore, you'll find old cars from the 1960s all over it. Also, music, rum, and Cuban cigars are impossible to avoid.

Moreover, the significant thing about Cuba is that Ernest Hemingway lived here, so you can visit his favorite bar and house. The top vacation place is Varadero, with white sandy beaches and a turquoise sea that will bring you total serenity while sipping a cocktail and enjoying the summer breeze. This is the longest beach in Cuba, with hotels and luxurious resorts to fulfill your needs.

9. Aruba

Aruba provides a perfect vacation with excellent nightlife, beautiful beaches and sea, fantastic water sports, and thrills in casinos

Aruba is a lavish island with casinos, vibrant nightlife, designer boutiques, upscale restaurants with expensive food, and duty-free shops. Moreover, it has lovely white sandy beaches and greenish-blue waters. Finally, it's known as one of the best windsurfing places.

Aruba's capital, Oranjestad, is influenced by Dutch culture, so the colorful colonial houses line up the streets. The city's main attractions are history and architecture, but Oranjestad is well-known for its nightclubs. Palm Beach is recognized as the place with the best beach in Aruba. Moreover, it's full of luxury hotels and resorts, most of which feature in-house casinos. Hence, Aruba is well-known among gamblers.

8. The Bahamas

Swimming with pigs is very popular in the Bahamas

The Bahamas are a perfect getaway, even though they are a bit pricey destination. Nevertheless, you'll forget that while sipping a cocktail on the pink beaches of Eleuthera. Moreover, they are unique as you can swim with the pigs! Consisting of more than 700 islands, this is a diver's paradise.

The capital of the Bahamas, Nassau, is full of historical places and street art. One of the most exciting things to do while there is to visit Junkanoo Carnival, a vibrant and energetic festival in a Madri Gras rhythm. Besides the pink sandy beaches, all around the coastline are gorgeous white powdery shores with luxurious resorts. Moreover, if you put in some effort, you can find a deserted seaside and enjoy the solitude.

7. Barbados

Barbados will charm you with its diversity, as it's a paradise with a vibrant nightlife

Rihanna's home country of Barbados has it all! If you like sunbathing, you will love its pristine white sandy beaches! Yet, if you enjoy swimming, you'll be mesmerized by its clear blue waters. As we said, it has everything, as many hiking trails surrounded by lush vegetation are ideal for nature lovers. Moreover, there is an animal wildlife sanctuary and an excellent marine park.

Bridgetown, Barbados' capital, has a variety of historical sights and vibrant nightlife. Therefore, it combines ancient with new and festive. All over the island are luxurious hotels, but booking some B&B at much lower prices is possible if you prefer more budget-friendly accommodation.

6. Jamaica

Jamaica, the homeland of reggae music

Jamaica, the homeland of reggae music, is just like it, vivid and rhythmic. Moreover, it has preserved nature, mountain peaks, and astonishing waterfalls (although they don't run upside down.) The capital of Jamaica, Kingston, is very colorful and exciting. However, it is highly recommended that tourists stick with the Uppertown as it's safer.

Jamaica is not the most regulated country, but you'll be ok if you book a guided tour. Hence, like in many lands and cities, avoiding some areas is better. Montego Bay is the best vacation place in Jamaica, with pristine sandy beaches and luxurious resorts spread all over the coastline. Just remember what's forbidden to wear!

5. The Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic offers much more beyond perfect sea and sand

The Dominican Republic is located on Hispaniola, sharing this island with Haiti. Sandy white beaches and great all-inclusive hotels are the main attractions of this Caribbean country. The capital Santo Domingo has excellent sightseeing locations, as modern and historical parts are perfectly intertwined.

Punta Cana is the country's most prominent vacation spot, as it has the most beautiful white beaches on the island and many modern resorts. However, the La Romana region is our top pick, as it has a bit nicer water. Still, it has significantly fewer hotels and resorts than Punta Cana.

4. Sint Maarten/Saint Martin

Explore the French and the Dutch part of this tropical island. Choosing between Sint Maarten or Saint Martin is hard!

This tropical paradise is divided into Dutch Sint Maarten and French Saint Martin. Yet, both sides are equally beautiful, with terrific sandy beaches and a relaxing vibe. The French part is quieter and more suitable for the foodies as it has a variety of fine dining restaurants.

Moreover, Saint Martin is better if you wish to spend a day on a secluded beach with a summer drink. French people are known to love their bodies, so nude sunbathers are welcomed here. The Dutch part is more bustling than the French territory. Moreover, Philipsburg, the capital of Sint Maarten, is the place to be if you love high-class shopping, especially jewelry stores.

3. Dominica

Dominica's wild beauty represents an excellent option for nature lovers

Dominica is different from the other islands on our list. This one is wilder than others, with a well-preserved nature. Hence, if you like hiking and exploring nature, you'll return to Dominica, one of the most beautiful Caribbean islands. Here you can even book accommodation in the rainforest or at a splendid secluded beach with endless diving opportunities. Dominica is also home to marvelous waterfalls, cliffs, and a unique Boiling lake.

The capital Roseau is a charming coastline city with a cozy old city center, surrounded by a mountain peak and a river. To conclude, we highly recommend Dominica for an active vacation, as there's a lot to explore.

2. St Barthelemy

Saint Barthélemy is a playground for rich and famous people

St Barthelemy, or St Barts, is a playground for the rich and famous and one of the best Caribbean islands. This small island is a place to be if you are loaded with cash, as visitors rent luxury villas during their vacation. However, the island has several smaller posh resorts and a few budget-friendly hotels.

St Barth's capital Gustavia is packed with high fashion designer stores and fine dining restaurants, so it's no wonder the jet set loves it. Besides the glamor, the island has attractive beaches, mountain peaks ideal for hiking, and many great fishing spots. So if you wish to be among jet setters, pack your bags and head to St Barthelemy!

1. St. Lucia

St. Lucia is mesmerizing, charming, and simply adorable

This charming island is our favorite Caribbean island to visit! St. Lucia has magical beaches, lush rainforests, and hills ideal for hiking with stunning views, natural springs, and much more. Its capital Castries' colorful streets will charm you at first sight, as they kept its French colonial style. The charming Old Town is mesmerizing, and the picturesque port full of cruisers is exceptional.

The city has excellent restaurants, yet the street food is equally delicious. One of the most vibrant places on the island is Rodney Bay, which has popular nightlife spots. The most beautiful beach is Anse Chastanet Beach, a favorite snorkeling spot.

As you can see, all the islands have one thing in common – charm, magnificent beaches, astonishing turquoise waters surrounding them, and some specific vibe. However, at the same time, each one is unique. So, wherever you go, you won't make a mistake!
