Athletes can ruin their own careers in a variety of ways. Over the years, alcohol and drugs have destroyed the lives of many of them. While drug misuse is a significant issue, it can be stopped. However, the memory of appearing in a sex tape is permanent. Therefore, it's possibly the worst thing a sportsperson or entertainer could do to their legacy. Having said that, numerous athletes have created sex recordings over the years, often costing them everything.
10. X-Pac
Early in the new millennium, Sean Waltman (X-Pac) and Chyna appeared in an explicit homemade tape. The video spread like wildfire throughout the internet and quickly gained popularity. Unfortunately, drug use was rampant throughout X-Pac and Chyna's recording. Thankfully, Waltman has improved his way of living. Although he still consumes marijuana today, it's much better than using a needle to inject meth.
Occasionally, X-Pac can be seen on WWE television. Additionally, he frequently appears on podcasts like "You're Welcome!" with Chael Sonnen, "The Steve Austin Show," and "The Ross Report." Although his current situation is significantly better, he can't give interviews without being questioned about his infamous tape.
9. Yusaf Mack
There has never been a declared homosexual boxer in the sport's history. Despite not being openly gay, Yusaf Mack has acknowledged being bisexual and having trouble coping with his sexuality. He lied to his family and friends for a long time but was eventually forced to come clean.
Yusaf starred in the gay adult movie "Holiday Hump'n," published in 2015. Naturally, he eventually had to tell his wife and kids the truth. Mack no longer competes in the ring and tries to handle any negative press. But Yusaf's primary goal in life is to be a good father, no matter what.
8. Yvette Bova
Yvette Bova was one of the most prominent female bodybuilders of her era. She placed first in many contests, but it wasn't until 2005 that she entered the adult industry. However, between 2005 and 2010, she founded her own business and appeared in a lot of X-rated movies.
Yvette still occasionally appears in adult videos and now operates her own website. Her muscles are as big as ever, and it appears that she won't be ending her career in the adult industry anytime soon.
7. Kazuhito Tadano
Baseball player Kazuhito Tadano was a bright young star. He was among the top players in Japan, and professional status appeared to be within his reach. However, Tadano needed money, so he decided to appear in an adult gay movie.
Consequently, Kazuhito's professional baseball career in Japan suffered, as no team was interested in signing him. Fortunately, in 2003, he joined the Cleveland Guardians. Kazuhito Tadano now coaches and throws for the Ishikawa Million Stars, a Japanese semi-pro baseball team. Therefore, Tadano's role in an adult film appears to have finally been forgotten by the Japanese people.
6. Chyna
During the Attitude Era, Chyna was a prominent Superstar in the WWE. She was a genuine physical specimen and a founding member of D-Generation X. However, the apex of her entertainment career came once she joined the WWE.
She entered the world of adult entertainment for the first time with her ex-boyfriend X-Pac. The couple infamously collaborated on a celebrity sex tape. Contrary to X-Pac, Chyna continued producing adult movies, which damaged her chances of ever joining the WWE again. Chyna earned her place in the Hall of Fame, but the WWE is unwilling to induct her as an individual due to her history in adult entertainment. Unfortunately, Chyna failed to recover her career and died soon after, aged 46.
5. Lea Lexis
Lea Lexis is one of the most talented athletes on this list. Lexis was a five-time National Gymnastics Champion before deep diving into the hardcore scene. Even though she excelled in her primary activity, Lea seemed to prefer a different style of pole vaulting.
Lea Lexis has been nominated for a number of AVN awards, and it appears that her experience in gymnastics has benefited her in her new line of work. Due to her part in "Sexual Gymnastics," Lexis was nominated for best performance in 2013. Nowadays, Lea Lexis is a full-fledged adult film celebrity who appears to be enjoying herself.
4. War Machine
War Machine is one of the vilest individuals ever to compete in the MMA sport. This maniac was a mediocre UFC fighter and a mediocre performer in the adult entertainment industry. His relationship with adult film star Christy Mack ultimately paved the way for his own adult entertainment career. Of course, everyone is aware of what happened to this lunatic. But just in case, here is a reminder.
War Machine physically assaulted Christy Mack and her male friend on August 8, 2014. In addition to ripping out Mack's teeth and rupturing her liver, War Machine fractured 18 bones in her body. Because of the severity of the attack and no signs of remorse, War Machine is currently serving a life sentence.
3. Kai Greene
Kai Greene is one of the leading bodybuilders of his generation. He has come close to triumphing in the Mr. Olympia competition, but as of 2022, he hasn't succeeded. Kai struggled financially a few years ago and therefore accepted a MuscleHunks.com offer. All that Greene had to do was to make passionate love to a watermelon. He complied with the request and was compensated fairly for the act.
Mr. Olympia's victory still eluded Kai Greene, and Phil Heath continued to stand in his way. So while Kai's watermelon business was a means to get some quick cash, winning Mr. Olympia is his life's work. We don't believe he'll ever go down and dirty with a watermelon again, but maybe we're wrong.
2. Sunny
After making her WWE debut in 1994, Sunny swiftly rose to the position of one of the top WWE Divas. Sunny was admitted to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011. However, she is now content with her new job as a well-known adult film star. The name of her debut movie was "Sunny Side Up: In Through the Backdoor," with trailers available on Vivid Entertainment's main website.
Sunny made a substantial sum of money with her debut film. Her health hasn't been fantastic lately, though. Additionally, she has a lot of legal problems and served time in prison until 2020. Nowadays, she runs her own OnlyFans page.
1. Hulk Hogan
Hulk Hogan is possibly the most well-known WWE Superstar of all time. Hogan may have been the biggest star on the planet during his reign as champion in the 1980s. Unfortunately, he had his shortcomings, despite being a hero to millions of people worldwide.
A sex tape featuring Hulk Hogan and the ex-wife of Bubba the Love Sponge circulated online in 2012. A short while later, millions of people viewed the footage after Gawker media posted clips from it. The "N" word can also be heard on the tape as Hulk uses it. The incident destroyed his relationship with the WWE, as they decided to delete almost all mentions of Hogan. Yet, they overturned that decision later. Consequently, Hogan sued Gawker Media for $100 million and won.
When an athlete succeeds and reaches the pinnacle, they must never forget how they got there in the first place. Years of demanding vocation can be destroyed in a few seconds. This top ten list should demonstrate how damaging adult entertainment work can be to a career. The majority of the athletes who made this list are currently not doing particularly well in their life. However, some are, believe it or not, on the other end of the scale.
Did you know that all these people had careers in adult entertainment? Is it all about the money, or is there something else too?
